How can the already created seating chart be present at a different date for me to take attendance when seat is the same?
Hello Hui Zou Welcome to the worldwide Canvas Community and thanks for posting your question here. Though I am hardly an expert on seating charts, based on my own experience in various sample course sites, once you edit a seating chart (as covered here: How do I create a roll call seating chart using the Attendance tool? ) it should stay put from that date forwards. In fact, that is the default behavior. For example, here is one that I created (note the date on top)
If I go to a future date, it is still there with the students in the same spots:
The main thing is not to edit it again! Just be sure that the tab shown at the top is set to Take Attendance and not Edit Seating Chart. Once you edit it again, then the new one will "stick" and be the one that you see on future dates. So do it once, and leave it and it should stay just fine.
I hope this helps a bit!
Thanks a million!
What I saw before is probably some kind of delay in synchronizing the chart; I've tried with more dates, and it works just as you show here.
Great! Glad I could help.
We are experiencing an issue with this problem currently. One of our faculty has created a seating chart but when she toggles to different days, the seating chart vanishes and the tool defaults to the "Edit Seating Chart" view instead of the "Take Attendance" view.
Is anyone else having this problem?
