I just read a blog where primary school kids assess each others work.
There class had 20 students. 15 had to make a test / assignment. The other 5 had to grade the assignment and give feedback. The students that did the grading did get some training, and did get an answer sheet. They each had to correct three assignments and give feedback. They didn't have to do the assignment, but got graded on their marking and on their feedback. If they could mark an assignment correctly, they must have mastered the intended learning outcomes.
I wonder if this method could be used at university. It looks like a great learning opportunity. It’s easy to setup in Canvas through an assignment with peer review. It would also save the teacher some time :-) What are your experiences?
