Is there a way to create a CSV file to support Easy Grade Pro?
Adam, welcome to the Canvas Community! I'm not familiar with Easy Grade Pro, but from a quick search it looks like it's associated with Blackboard - Easy Grade Pro (EGP) | Blackboard Help
Could you explain a little more about what you're trying to do? If so, then hopefully we can help!
Our district is changing to Canvas and I still want to use an extrernal
gradebook software (Easy Grade pro). Would like to upload my
grades/comments/special scores from my external gradebook and upload to
canvas. Easy grade pro is impossible to get a hold of. It would also help
if I can create a CSV file from canvas of my students enrolled and import
that to Easy Grade Pro so when I import scores back to canvas all students
will be recognized.
I am sure there is an easier way for me to explain. Please let me know if
you need any clarification. Thank you.

Adam, I apologize for missing your follow-up response! Yes, you can upload grades to Canvas using a CSV/Excel file and yes, you can download a CSV file with your student's names. For more on this see the following guides:
How do I upload changes to the Gradebook?
How do I export grades from the Gradebook?
Unfortunately I'm not going to be much help beyond this as Easy Grade Pro isn't a software I'm familiar with or have access to.
Easy Grade Pro (EGP) is a third-party grading software that has many gradebook features that the Canvas gradebook does not have. EGP does have the ability to export the gradebook to an xml file, which contains all the relevant gradebook information. Is it possible to have the xml file produced by EGP parsed by Canvas and uploaded into the Canvas Gradebook? The software can also create html reports, export a Basmati gradebook file, and sync with Edline.
It would be nice if Canvas had the ability to sync grades with an third-party gradebook software like EGP by taking an exported file and making it integrate with the Canvas gradebook. Is this a feature that Canvas will have in the future? If not, I think that it will become an issue for our school district as more teachers move to standards based grading and the Canvas gradebook does not accept uploaded grades nor have features that make recording standards based grading easier.
Marco, I'm so sorry that I missed your reply to this post!
As far as I'm aware the only file format you can upload directly to the Canvas gradebook is CSV - How do I upload changes to the Gradebook? I'm not sure of your technical expertise, but I did a quick search and found some online programs that will take a xml file and convert it to Excel. I'm not sure if this will work for what you are wanting, but it might be place to start.
I don't technically work for Canvas so I can't speak to what they might be working on in terms of gradebook imports. The Canvas Studio is the best place to check out feature ideas that have already been suggested and ideas that have already been implemented. You can also recommend/create your own feature idea for this type of grade sync. If you believe this will be a major hindrance to the teachers at your school then I would also recommend communicating with your Canvas CSM about this issue. They can often provide some extra information, insight, and advocate for these types of features.
Sorry again for the delay!
