Just wondering how that works...
A blueprint course has a bunch of files... some, maybe, are larger introduction videos.
WHERE are those files stored? In the blueprint course itself...? or are they stored in the child courses?
Great question. I'm not positive, but I don't think the files count against the child course quota. I have a few BluePrint courses set up and compared the file storage on the Master to the child courses which have had nothing else done to them yet. The master had 20 MB of storage being used the the child course shows 0. Another child course of the same master shows 200 MB, but I think that is because of extra files that were added to it.
On Rick's comment I became incredibly curious and couldn't resist trying this to fully understand it!
So, what I have found is Rick is completely spot on. I created a blueprint course, uploaded ~1GB of files, and applied that to a child course.
The child course did also inherit the new quota but showed zero usage as Rick saw. I then (to test this) changed the quota on the child to only 50MB and was able to upload a 10MB file (even with the 1GB of content from the blueprint).
This does make a lot of sense. Therefore, I would say (from how it appears), the files are stored in the blueprint and linked to in the child courses, therefore not physically duplicating them or taking up additional quota.
Hope that helps!
