How do I review discussions posts from students that are not graded?

At our institution, "engagement" (i.e. interaction on weekly discussion boards/threads) is a key component of the class.  We have required/graded weekly discussion questions.  There are also somewhere between 1-4 additional threads just about each day during the week that students engage with.  We measure the quantity and quality of this engagement.  As recent converts from Blackboard, we could use the Performance Dashboard to get access to all the student's work for the week, in order to not only grade the assigned discussion questions but to evaluate the student's participation in other parts of the course.

In Canvas, I have used the Discussion Index but that appears to show only the graded items, nothing extra.  I tried People > select a student > . . . . . . . I have looked at the Grade Center and Individual View, but that doesn't seem to do it either.

Does anyone else do this?  It would seem there should be a way to do this, but being new, I just can't seem to figure it out.
