In the past I was able to add multiple users using this format: "Lastname, Firstname" <email address>, but now it just doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
I used to work in the Washing Community College system, but it's been a few years, so I'm not sure who is over eLearning in your District. I do know you have an admin though! Please ask around and seek them out.
It could be possible that the functionality to manually add a user to your course that does not already have an account has been disabled.

I can't answer you as to how you were able to add multiple users with the same address in the past, as I have never been able to do that myself nor wanted to have multiple users with the same emails as it could be a violation of ferpa.

Are you talking about adding students to a class on Canvas? Do the students already have Canvas accounts or are you trying to have Canvas create their accounts as part of the process of adding them to your course?
If you could post a screenshot of what happens now when trying to do what you are describing that might help us with an answer.
It looks like the new format is:"Last, First" <email@example.com>
On the next screen, when it says it can't find matches, be sure to check the box at the upper left by "Name".
Ok, so I tried this ("Last, First" <email address>) and it does not work for multiple entries like it used to. Any other suggestions anyone? Surely this must be possible! I don't have a school admin to help me...
