Can someone with a TA role change grades?
Hi Pamela Jackson and welcome to the Canvas Community!
I have attached a screen capture of 'Course Role Permissions' for TA as they are setup here at Pierce, and it indicates YES for 'edit grades'. I believe that these are as they are originally issued in the Admin Panel... see attached.
Dueling fingers, Earl !
As soon as I saved my comment, yours popped up.
Thanks for including a screenshot.
Thanks Kelley, I'm having fun helping out here in the Community... it keeps me on my toes! ;>)
I know Earl ! I have seen the tremendous up-tick in your postings, and you have been so helpful to folks. I guarantee that the entire Community team has noticed, and is also appreciative. We will miss you when your sailboat leaves WiFi range this Fall, my friend!
Some folks like Disney, but this is my happy place!
A TA role is modifiable by your Canvas Admin. It is essentially built using the Teacher role as a template, and then adjusted based on each school's preferences.
If you have admin access to your Canvas account, you can check your current TA role permissions by going to the Permissions page in the Admin area. The default permissions-set does include grading. From conversations in the Community, there are considerable variations in how TAs are used; thus variations in how their permissions are set.
You can learn more about Roles and Permissions in that area of the Canvas Admin Guide.
I hope this helps,
