I am trying to make a graded discussion, however, the 'graded' box is grayed out not allowing me to make the discussion graded. Anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? Please help.
Above the option "Graded" you have a "Post to" list. Remove any sections mentioned there and choose "All sections". After that, the "Graded" checkbox becomes clickable again.
You can assign graded discussions to a specific section in a similar way as you do with graded assignments - on the bottom you have the "Assign" group of controls - which shows up once you enabled "Graded".
If you have a teacher level or higher roll in the course, the "Graded" checkbox should be active. Learn more at How do I create a discussion as an instructor?
If you are a student you can still create discussions if your teacher has enabled this, but you cannot created graded discussions.
