Hello Michele Cooper Welcome to the Canvas Community. Thanks for posting your question. There isn't a built-in way to re-arrange the Course Cards on your Canvas Dashboard. However, there is a "Canvancement" from James Jones where he details how you can do this using a script. It's not part of "core" Canvas, but you can still use it just for yourself or you could talk with your school's Canvas admin to see if they would be willing to install the script for all courses in Canvas. But that would be a decision for them to make. Here's the documentation: Sorting Dashboard Course Cards. I hope this helps, Michele!
Chris, once again you sneak in the response before I can finish mine. Maybe I should have learned to type correctly back in 8th grade so I could be faster.
LOL, you were both fast! I was expecting to wait until tomorrow!! I will do the script and put my vote if! Thank you for your quick response...BOTH of you!

This functionality does not exist natively within Canvas, although it is a popular request.
These two items are on Canvas' Product Radar: Drag Courses on Dashboard and Reorder Dashboard Boxes . You may want to go there and lend your support by voting or commenting on your use case.
In the meantime, there is a solution for people using a web browser (it doesn't work on the mobile apps). I wrote a free user script that people can install in their browser that will add this functionality. Sorting Dashboard Course Cards. Ignore the part of the instructions about Greasemonkey and just use Tampermonkey.
Some schools have installed this script globally for all of their students. Students at our institution don't know that the ability to sort isn't native to Canvas.
Last week at their national conference, Canvas demoed a new To Do list. When it becomes available, students may prefer to use it for their dashboard rather than the course cards and so sorting them may not be as important as it currently is.
