I tried to change my e-mail address but now I seem to have 2 separate accounts. I need to deactivate the one that has my outdated email. How do I deactivate myself?

Just out of curiosity, are you referring to your Canvas account at your institution, or your Canvas Community account here? Hopefully we can get you some help
Jennifer, we haven't heard back from you yet, so to revisit the question, if you're looking to deactivate an account that contains Canvas courses, please log into the account you wish to have deleted and use the Report a Problem ticket modal in the Help link of your global navigation to request deletion of that account (How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor? ; if you're a student, the process is very similar). We hope you've been able to resolve this, so we've marked the question as Assumed Answered—but that won't prevent the conversation from ensuing here, so if you still need help, just let us know.
