Trying to copy and save my syllabus in canvas while keeping all formatting intact. Need to send to
my department chair. Is there an easy way?
I create my syllabi in pages so that they resize as needed for student viewing/printing, and so they are easy to print off for department chair.
Yes, that would make it easier for sure . I can print it off, but the department chair prefers to have an electronic copy sent to him. When I attempt this, the formatting gets all messed up .
We have a syllabus template already created for us via canvas that we are expected to use for both our face-to-face courses and our online ones. We were told this semester that the one for our face-to-face course was no longer available in the commons area so we had to copy and use one from a previous course. This has not worked out for me at least. Every time I save my syllabus, create a link for it on the home page, and then open it, the formatting is all messed up. I have gone back in several times and fixed the formatting errors, saved the changes as both a word document and as a download, and then added this as a new page in my course pages' listing. I then link the revised document to the home page. Once I click on it and open it, the formatting errors, i.e. additional spacing between words and lines, left alignment off, etc. is still messed up. I have attempted to fix everything several times now. I finally just removed the link and I'm relying on the syllabus that I have in the navigation menu (for student viewing) as it presents itself correctly for the most part. Still, I wish I knew how to fix such things .
Thank you Robin!
