Currently show a course from fall 2017. How do I default to a course from fall 2018?
Bingo! It was a bookmark issue, not a canvas issue. By bookmark was sending me to https://lrccd.instructure.com/courses/20272. I have changed it to https://lrccd.instructure.com. That does it. Thank you!
Hello Rick Woodmansee Welcome to the Canvas Community. Thanks for posting your question. I'm a little unclear as to what you mean by "default course". Do you mean that when you log in to Canvas you are immediately taken to a course that you are either teaching or taking? Or, are you asking if you can customize the courses you see on your Canvas Dashboard? If you're asking about the Dashboard, you can follow one of these two Guides:
How do I customize my Courses list as an instructor?
How do I customize my Courses list as a student?
I hope this helps, Rick. However, if this is not what you are looking for, please let us know so that we can help you further...thanks!
I mean that when I log in to Canvas I am immediately taken to a course that I am teaching. I want to change that course.
Hello Rick Woodmansee...
Thank you for that clarification. By chance, to you have any favorite bookmarks to that particular course saved in the web browser you are using? If so, that's one thing I could think of that may first prompt you to log in...but ultimately take you directly to your course. If you went to the Canvas Dashboard and then created a new "favorite" in your web browser's bookmarks, then you'd have that new link available to you where you'd always go to the Dashboard first. I know you said that you wanted to change that to a Fall 2018 course, but that may keep you from seeing important announcements or other information that your school's local Canvas administrator may post to the Dashboard from time to time. (You'd have to manually click on the "Dashboard" icon every time you wanted to go there instead of going immediately to your Fall 2018 course, for example.)
I hope this helps, Rick.
