Hi,

I hope someone can tell me if there is a way to use the assignments for tracking hours spent each week on projects. I have work co-op students that have to meet their objective hours and in the past I have tried to use it as a weekly assignment, but student panic when they see they have less hours than the "default". Does anyone have an idea how to track these hours in the gradebook so they don't show as a percentage but rather just a raw score?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I'm back, and I think I found a workable solution.

You will want to set the weekly hours up as you described above. Each week will have an assignment worth 9 points.

Then, set up the display grade as @kona described above - so that students do not see a percentage for each assignment, instead they see the points.

You may consider weighting your gradebook so that you can track this category separate. This will also give students an overall percentage of their total co-op hours. Weight the final course grade based on Assignment Groups

Here is an example of my test gradebook with all 100 assignments in a single assignment group and weighted.

You can see that points (hours) for each assignment are varied by week, but overall 90/90 = 100%

Here is what the student sees

Does this work for you?
