Hi PATRICK
I just helped someone with this very common problem earlier today. It is very likely that you copied your empty shell back into itself. Redo the course copy process, and be sure you are selecting a past course with content to copy into your new shell.
Unfortunately, what can also happen is that you reversed the process, and copied your empty shell into the previous course with content, thereby wiping out that content. I(f this happened, you can likely recover the lost content from your school's beta canvas instance. You can learn how to access your beta instance here How do I access the Canvas beta environment as an instructor?
I hope this is helpful,
Kelley
Hello there, PATRICK AULIK...
Going off of what Kelley L. Meeusen has stated, there is an easy way to check if you tried copying "nothing" into "nothing" (what Kelley describes in his first paragraph). In the course that you were trying to copy content into, go to your course "Settings" screen and then click on "Import Course Content". Under the "Current Jobs", you will probably see a recent date and time where you had tried to copy course content (it would list "Course Copy" next to a course name). If you hover over the link next to "Course Copy", the URL will of that link will display at the bottom of your browser. If the Course ID number (ex: SchoolName.instructure.com/courses/12345) is the same as the URL displayed at the top of your screen in the address bar of your browser, then you've tried copying "nothing" into "nothing".
I hope this helps, Patrick.
