Is it possible to create a pass code for administration that could override any pass code that is set for a quiz and or test?
I don't think it's possible. Only 1 password can be set up for a quiz. But, the password is stored in the quiz in clear text, so an admin should always have access to look up that password by looking it up when editing a quiz. Will that work?
I am the coordinator of a very large high school testing center. We have tests and quizzes from all subjects and teachers. Unfortunately, this means an abundance of passcodes. I do have the ability to look up codes but was hoping for a way to steam line the process.
What we do to manage this "multiple proctor multiple test code lookup" situation is to have a Google Doc where each teacher lists the codes for all of their exams and anything else the proctors should know (notes/calculators allowed/not allowed, formula sheet provided, and so on), that is shared with the various teachers and the various proctors.
Canvas doesn't have any features that I know of to make an automated process to collect the codes, unfortunately. We're small enough that this isn't a huge issue for us, but I don't know how well our method would scale. I suppose a Google Form might scale somewhat better than a Google Doc, but we're more concerned with the various information about notes/formula sheets/etc. and need more narrative space rather than just code-sharing so we go with a doc.
