Is there a way to for Canvas to automatically forward a comment made in Gradebook to an email copy?
Hello there, Donna Bell...
Absolutely! First, in your Canvas environment, go to the "Account" button on the left hand side of the screen, then go to "Notifications". You'll see a table of information displayed on your screen. You should see a column that lists your e-mail address. Scroll down the screen, and look for the row called "Submission Comment". Within that row, under the column with your e-mail address, you can choose how often you would like to receive notifications: right away, daily summary, weekly summary, or nothing at all. If you would like to also receive notifications via other methods (such as via text message, Twitter, or another e-mail account (such as your home e-mail), you can do that, too. While still on the "Notifications" screen, click on "Settings" at the top left corner of the page. You will see a "Ways to Contact" area on the right side of your screen. Here is where you can add those other contact methods. Once you've added any additional contact methods, those will show up on your "Notifications" screen...one column for each new contact method you add. Here are some Guides for you on all of this:
How do I add contact methods to receive Canvas notifications as an instructor?
How do I add an additional email address as a contact method in Canvas as an instructor?
How do I add a text (SMS) contact method in Canvas as an instructor?
How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as an instructor?
I hope this information is helpful to you, Donna!
