We are hoping to use Arc to record private lessons that can last up to 90 minutes, we are seeing the video timeout and not save.
In terms of recording time length each of the integrated Arc content creation tools (webcam or screen capture) has a different available recording duration based on the compute resources available to the tool.
For the browser based webcam capture, while we don't limit the recording length time we do recommend recordings of only be about 5-10min, because the browser's memory resources available tend to be limited.
For screen capture, there is also no limit on time length. That said, the screen capture tool is a native application on the computer versus the browser so it will be able to record longer because it has the computers' memory resources available to it, which are greater than the browser.
Hope that helps!
Hello there, Kristal Lowes...
I am not exactly sure of an answer for you, but I wanted to let you know that I will be sharing your question with someone from Instructure who should be able to help answer this question. Also, I have shared your question with the Arc Users Group here in the Canvas Community in hopes that your question will get some additional exposure. If you aren't yet following this group, please use the link that I have provided, and then click on the "Follow" button at the top right corner of the screen. Also, near that button is a link for "Actions". Select that, and then click on "Join group". I hope that all of this will be of help to you, Kristal. Good luck!
I actually am curious on this as well. We had an instructor try to record a 29-minute lecture twice and got an error both times and lost the recording.
