How do I un-thread Canvas Mail Responses?

I have a problem with Canvas Mail. 


When students reply to a message I've sent earlier in the course, the replies come back threaded in the email. This means that when a student has a question later in the course and they reply to an earlier message, I'll get the entire thread from when I originally sent the message. 


Sometimes, this results in me losing track of messages because the thread will contain multiple new student emails all stacked together. And when I reply, it only adds to the confusing mess by reordering them in chronological order. 


Is there a way to un-thread emails so that when a student replies to it, it forms its own email? I was hoping to find a setting for this, but I cannot.
