how am I supposed to do a video discussion question and submit it? I see nothing on videos. I’ve never used Canvas before so it’s kind of overwhelming.
Hello there, Kristi Wise Thank You for posting your question. I've been reviewing older questions here in the Canvas Community, and I stumbled upon your question. I am sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here in the Community for over five months without a response. I wanted to check in with you to see if you've been able to find a solution to your question on your own since you first posted back in early October. If so, would you be willing to come back to this topic to provide us with an update of the solution you found? Or, if you are still looking for some help from members of the Community, please let us know that as well.
In reading over your question, it sounds as though you are being asked to post a video submission as part of a discussion reply? Since neither I nor the vast majority of people here in the Community have access to your course or your school's Canvas environment, this is a bit hard to know exactly what your assignment/instructor is asking of you. So, it's a bit of a guessing game. There are a couple different ways that you can record videos (either right online via the Rich Content Editor...or RCE, or record offline and then upload into your discussion topic). The Guides for those are here:
How do I record a video using the Rich Content Editor as a student?
How do I upload a video using the Rich Content Editor as a student?
Another option for you would be to record your video offline, upload it to your Google / YouTube account (if you had an account on their site), and then use this Guide to post the YouTube link in your Discussion reply:
How do I link to a YouTube video in a discussion reply as a student?
Hopefully one of these options might be of help to you. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because we have not heard back from you in over five months and because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for the same amount of time. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope that's alright with you, Kristi. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
