I have been giving out weekly video feedback to each student, using many different computers from my Windows desktop to my iMac, to my MacBook Pro. About two weeks ago it just stopped working for me.
In SpeedGrader, I click on the Media Comment icon and want to use the tab Record Media, but I keep getting this message:
Flash required for recording video. and it just keeps circling - never getting out of here. I have actually left it on and went to lunch and came back 60 minutes later and still going!
I have used Plan B which is record in in PhotoBooth (movie mode) and have been uploading the media file that way, but there are extra steps (time) that I would rather not have to do. I did check that my computers are "allowing Flash" and everything is updated.
Did something change in a recent update that I missed, or does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks!
I was able to resolve this issue on my computer. I did update my Flash to the latest version. Then I restarted Chrome. In Chrome Browser, I clicked on the lock in the left side of the address bar while logged into Canvas. I made sure all the options to the right of the drop-down are set to allow. Under the site settings link, you can double check Flash to make sure it’s set to allow and not just “ask.” You can close this window and give media recordings another attempt.
