At the recent CanvasCon in Sydney we were asked a series of questions. As there was not enough time to answer them all live we have begun a series attempting to answer a few here.
But Community is all about people, your input to the discussions will assist everyone so much, so please feel free to add your thoughts and experiences.
Who is using ePortfolios well in Australia?
We have been encouraging our early career teachers to use the ePortfolio tool in Canvas to record evidence of teaching for their full registration. Some colleges are looking at it to use with older students preparing to join the workforce. Some primary/elementary teachers are wanting to start using it with students to keep evidence of learning each year.
Some advice I read recently suggested that you need to develop a folder structure and naming conventions that all of your students must follow. Without an established folder structure and naming conventions for students to follow you will pull your hair our trying to figure out which artifacts are where within the ePortfolio.

I’m sure we could be using them better so ideas are more than welcome. Please share below.
Many thanks to Scott Dennis for his support during CanvasCon and this Canvascon Q&A, Stuart Ryan and Jayde Colquhoun fellow panelists, and the wonderful Barrett Doran for being the MC.
