Why am I not given a rubric option for a Google Cloud Assignment?
Hello Kristy Smith Welcome to the Canvas Community. Thank you for posting your question. Based on your question, I'm assuming that you are using the Google LTI integration with Canvas to create a Google Cloud assignment in your course. When you choose "External Tool" as your submission type, then the Canvas rubric option goes away. However, all is not lost. What you need to do is first is select the type as "Online". Then, build your rubric like normal. After you have built your rubric, then change your submission type to "External Tool", and then select the Google Cloud option. You will still be able to access the rubric via the SpeedGrader for your assignment, and your students will still be able to view the rubric by accessing it through the assignment listed in their own Gradebook screen.
As as aside, here is a popular Feature Idea that has many votes for your review: LTI External Tools - Ability to Add Rubric. If you want, you can vote on it and even add a comment letting Instructure know why this kind of feature would be important to you.
I hope this helps, Kristy.
