I always use the annotation features in Speedgrader to do in-text comments, but suddenly they're gone. I'm using Google Chrome but also tried in Explorer.
I did try that but it didn't help. Nancy Webb at my college found the solution--I had accidentally set the peer reviews to anonymous and that disables annotation. Now that I unchecked the anonymous option I can annotate again.
Thanks for your quick response and suggestion!
Hello Anna Mills...
I just tested out the annotation tools that are available in SpeedGrader (I was annotating a PDF file), and everything seemed to be working properly. What kind of file is it that your student has submitted? Word document? PDF? Something else? Also, what version of Chrome are you currently using? I am on 70.0.3538.67 (Official Build) (64-bit). (See Which browsers does Canvas support? for more details.) Have you tried using Mozilla Firefox to see if you can use the annotation tools? I wouldn't recommend using IE or Edge when navigating around Canvas There are some things that just don't "play nice" when using those two browsers, so I would stick with Chrome or Firefox as your browser of choice when logged in to Canvas. If you've tried all these things, have you reached out to Canvas technical support to submit a trouble ticket to them? That way, if there is something wrong, they can send it to their engineers to address. Here's how to contact them: How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?
Looking forward to hearing back from you, Anna!
Thanks for responding! Both Word and PDF documents have the problem. I just updated Chrome to Version 70.0.3538.67 but still have the problem.
Hi Anna Mills...
Have you tried installing the Mozilla Firefox browser to see if you can annotate student submissions in that browser?
Also, have you tried clearing your browser's cache to see if that helps?
How do I clear my browser cache on a Mac?
How do I clear my browser cache on a PC?
Thanks for the reply. I am glad that you were able to get the issue resolved on your end with some help from a colleague. I will go ahead and mark your answer as "Correct". Thanks again for the update.
