How can I upload an image from my desktop into the textbox of my assignment.
Hi Hannah Thomas Welcome to the Canvas Community. That is a good question and, frankly, one that has a somewhat cumbersome solution under the circumstances.
The issue at play is that you are using what is called the rich content editor in Canvas as a student when submitting a text answer for an assignment. Uploading an image from your computer is actually covered here: How do I embed images from Canvas into the Rich Content Editor as a student? You want to use the image icon shown in the screen capture on that page, but find the file via the Canvas tab. The trick is that in order to do that, you must FIRST add the image to your personal Files area in Canvas, which is covered here: How do I use Files as a student?
So basically, step one is heading to Account>>Files and then adding the file there. After you do that, you can then head back to the assignment's text editor, and embed the file within the text where you want by clicking the image icon in the rich content editor, and clicking on the Canvas tab to find the file from your files area.
I hope this helps, Hannah. Good luck in your studies!
