Is there a way to edit instructor's comments on Speedgrader after they've been submitted?
For general comments added on the right sidebar of Canvas it is not possible to edit them. You can delete a comment by clicking the X can icon to the right of the comment. So you could copy the existing comment text, paste it as a new comment, delete the original comment, and then edit and post the new one.
If you are talking about Annotations that you create directly on the submission in Speedgrader, those can be edited. Simply click on the annotation and it should be come editable.
Thanks for the answer Rick. Yet another lunacy of Canvas. It's like the feature that if you put some marks in, then decide you want to mute that column of marks, it only mutes the marks that you enter subsequent to the muting, the earlier ones remain visible to the students. And so it is with the SpeedGrader comments box...wanting to make small changes can't be simple. Got chuck the whole thing and burn time cutting and pasting text in and out of Canvas rather than making simple edits in the comment box.
Why not just make them editable?
Would make too much sense. This is Canvas.
