I don't find hot spot, stimuli, etc. type questions under question choices. Any help would be appreciated.
Not to sound too silly, but are you sure you are using Quizzes.Next, and are not in the legacy quizzing tool? If you are creating your Quiz by going to Quizzes or by adding a Quiz in a module, then you are using the legacy tool. If you are creating a quiz using Assignments, then you are using Quizzes.Next.
You can learn more in the Quizzes.Next chapter of the Instructor Guide.
Let us know how it works out
Thank you! Even though I've been playing with both Quiz functions in Canvas this year, I just realized how to get to each function.
If you are going through Assignments, this should be similar to your page.
If not, then you're going through Quizzes.
Thank you! Going the assignments was what I needed to do!
We are glad you found what you needed!
And don't feel bad, you're not the only one to have that experience! I've had a couple of instructors with this same experience after enabling quizzes.next in the feature options. It's confusing that it's not available from within the Quizzes tool, and not intuitive that you would find a button in Assignments.
Hi Todd Van Zandt...
Instructure built the new Quizzes.Next quizzing interface as a LTI tool. (See the blue box in this Guide: How do I create an assessment using Quizzes.Next?.) Because of this, LTIs are connected to "Assignments" rather than the "Quizzes" page. Hope this helps.
Thanks Chris! I think it's good to get that explanation out there for folks. I do explain that, and direct folks there as I receive the questions. I was just noting that instructors don't always know it intuitively when they enable quizzes.next in feature options. They still look in Quizzes and wonder why they don't see the new features. Tihiuc19 had that experience as well.
It's like building a house and putting the light switch in the kitchen. You can inform the new homeowner and give them a packet of information about their new home that explains it, but when they walk in the front door they are still instinctively going to search for the switch on the wall near the front door.
Todd, the ultimate navigation pathway to Quizzes.Next is being actively discussed, and you can read more about that in Move Quizzes.Next to Quizzes Tab (one of the comments under the idea provides a link to additional discussion).
ThanksStefanie! I participated in the discussion on that 'idea' a while back, and was the author of the linked discussion. I was sort of hopeful that Priority: Assignments 2.0 might address this in some way, but from the initial description it appears to be more focused on the set up and submission of assignments, and not as much about the top-level management interface for them.
Anyhow, I appreciate you sharing these additional resources, as there is always so much great content and discussion in the community, and this is a great way to direct folks to the other related, relevant threads that might come across this post first. Thanks again!
