How do I remove old (previous years) Course Content on my Syllabus page please?
Hello Dianne and welcome to the Canvas Community! Are you speaking about information that is on the Syllabus tab of your course?
The material written on this page should be editable using the "edit" button in the corner of the page (see arrow A in the image below). The assignment list beneath this (arrow B) is changed by editing the due dates in the assignment themselves (assignments tab, quizzes tab, discussions tab, etc.). When you delete items or change their dates, these are updated.
Does this help?
All the best---
I can edit information on the Syllabus
The Course Summary = where tasks from 2017 as well as this year are listed.
I want to remove those but cannot. I tried unpublishing but they are still there
Thanks for trying to help me

Hi Dianne. I just double-checked in one of my sandbox courses, and if the assignment is unpublished it will still appear in the Syllabus tab for teachers but not students. However, if the assignment is deleted completely it should not appear in the Syllabus tab any longer. I have heard of situations where a change isn't apparent until someone logs out of Canvas, clears their internet cache, and logs back in. In these cases, technically the change was made but the web browser makes it appear as though it hasn't. If you wanted to double check that students cannot see the unpublished assignments on the Syllabus tab, from the Home tab you could choose the "student view" option.
All the best!
Hi Dianne Byers . ,and Welcome to the Canvas Community!
These old entries can sometimes be pesky, and are often the result of duplicate assignments in your current course - one with the correct due date for the term, and one left over from a previous term and moved in during a course copy.
Because these entries are hyperlinks, you can click on the item and navigate to it's entry in your course calendar. From there you can easily delete them. A word of caution: if they are a duplicate, you will want to verify that no students have submitted the item - which happens way too often. Checking the syllabus page's Course Summary is an important check before the term starts to make sure your assignments are correct.
