Anybody using Tableau for data analysis of courses etc and can offer some guidance on setting up and configuring it?
Hello Saqib Safdar...
While I do not have an answer for you myself, I wanted to let you know that I am going to share your question with the Data and Analytics group here in the Canvas Community in hopes that your question will get some additional exposure. If you are not currently following this group, please use the link that I have provided, and then click on the "Follow" button at the top right corner of the screen. Also, next to that button is a button called "Actions". Go there, and then select "Join group". I hope this will be helpful to you, Saqib. Good luck!
I use Tableau to analyze Canvas Data and Canvas Live Events. I can try to help answer your questions. Can you provide some more specific details as to what you need help with?
Hi, I'm using tableau desktop for creation and visualization, but with Tableau Prep I can prepare data based on my needs. Tableau Prep is cool because you define "flows" to clean and prepare data, or mix two or more tables into a hyper or csv file that could use later on Tableau Desktop
I've used Google Data Studio to do visualizations of Canvas data. I've got the data stored in Google Sheets and it works well!
Chad, could you share the steps that you follow to put CanvasData in GoogleSheets and then on Data Studio?
We are still in the process of finalizing what we want the dashboard to be and how it functions. Once I get the clear from my District to share, I'll do so. I'll make sure to comment here with a link to the document when I make it.
Hi there, Saqib Safdar...
I thought I would check in with you again. I've been reviewing some of the older questions here in the Community, and I noticed that there hasn't been any new activity in this topic since May 13, 2019. We've also not heard back from you since you first posted your question on December 9, 2018. Have you had an opportunity to review the responses you're received in this topic? Did any of them help to answer your question? If so, please go ahead and click the "Mark Correct" button next to someone's response if you feel that person has helped to answer your question. However, if you're still looking for some help with your original question, please let us know that as well by posting a note below letting Community members know how we might be able to help you out. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because we've not heard back from you and because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for over four months. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope that's alright with you, Saqib. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
I was wondering if anybody has an example Tableau file with Canvas Outcomes analysis that I can take a look at.
