On my grades page there are columns that say assignments but I don't want those columns. How do I remove them?
Hi Erika Donahue Welcome to the Canvas Community! I am guessing that you are referring to the columns that are appearing at the end of your gradebook and have headings that are colored black, unlike the other columns based on specific assignments that you created. Those are columns that are automatically generated by the assignment groups that are seen on your Assignments page in Canvas. If you check the screen captures listed under the View Assignment Groups heading on this lesson covering the gradebook in Canvas, you will see some explanations for how they get generated.
By default, Canvas will always have one assignment group called Assignments, as mentioned here: How do I create an assignment shell in an assignment group? You may sometimes get more than one of these, especially if you have imported material from other classes, even if you did not create a group on your own. If you are not otherwise weighting your assignment groups--and I suspect you are not--you can click and drag all assignments into the one master Assignments group on your ASSIGNMENTS page, as covered here: How do I move or reorder an assignment group? Bottom line, though, is that you will always have at least one assignment group called Assignments in your Gradebook in addition to your Total column.
I hope this helps a bit, Erika!
