i have a deadline to take my quiz and i click on the button and nothing happens. it is not opening or doing anything.

You may not realize it, but posted your question to a worldwide group of Canvas users who exchange information, so we can't really help much with your immediate situation. You really want to contact your instructor or head to your institution's technical support. That said, make absolutely certain that you are using an up-to-date web browser, as covered here: Which browsers does Canvas support? Also, even though it is officially supported, I would strongly recommend you do NOT use Internet Explorer/Edge, as most of us in this Community have tended to have the most issues with that browser. (In fact, I see your institution's web page here states this, as well: https://learn.nmsu.edu/ ).
