I need to set up a page in Canvas that will allow students to upload videos from their computer/smart phone. How dod I do that?
David, is there a reason that you want this to be on a page instead of a graded assignment/discussion or a non-graded discussion? Just curious because it would be easier to set-up and less likely that the students would have problems with it.
Yet, technically you could create a page in Canvas and at the bottom (in editing mode) under "Can edit this page role selection" you could change it to "Teachers and Students." Then students could go onto the page and use the "Record/Upload Video" option in the Rich Content Editor to upload their video - How do I upload a video using the Rich Content Editor as a student?. You'd have to really push to them the importance of not deleting anyone else's stuff, but otherwise this would work. As a side note, you could also check the box for this page to add this to the Student's "To Do" list so that way they'd know to do it.
Hope this helps! Kona
Hi David Lopato - It's been a few months since you first asked about how to collaborate with your students as they upload video content to your course. Kona provided a few suggestions, but it would be great to hear from you! How are things going? If you found a solution for your course(s), could you share what worked?
Hello there, David Lopato...
I have been reviewing older questions here in the Canvas Community, and I stumbled upon your question. Like Kristin Lundstrum... I, too, would like to check in with you because I noticed that we have not yet heard back from you since you first posted your question on December 11, 2018. Have you had an opportunity to review the feedback that you received from Kona Jones on December 12, 2018? If so, did her feedback help to answer your question? Or, are you still looking for some help from members of the Community with your question? If you feel that Kona has helped to answer your question, please feel free to click the "Mark Correct" button next to her reply. However, if you are still looking for some help from Community members, please let us know that as well by posting a message below. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because we've not heard back from you since late last year and because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for a couple months. However, that will not prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope that's alright with you, David. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
