Is there a way to save a response to a discussion before submitting? If I do not finish response, can I save and go back and finish at another time?
Or will it delete if I do not submit?
Hi Janna Poth Welcome to the Canvas Community, and you are very wise person to be asking this before you start posting. Many students and faculty have lost a discussion post they have typed due to the fact that, as you fear, Canvas does NOT have an "save" or "autosave" feature in the Discussion. I strongly encourage you to write your discussion first in a word processing program or somewhere where you can save the text while creating it.
Now that you have joined the Community, you can also vote! There is a Feature Idea on this very topic, though admittedly it does not look like it will be dealt with in the near future...but it's still worth a vote! It is here: Auto Save in Rich Content Editor . (The rich content editor is what you are typing into within Discussions; faculty, especially, have it elsewhere in Canvas, so this has been a desired feature for several people.)
I hope this helps, Janna!
