I am working with a professor and we ran into an issue with a discussion board. She created a new link for the discussion, but it still links back to last semester's student responses. Any suggestions for how to remedy? Thanks.
Hi Nicki Kincaid Welcome to the Canvas Community. Thank you for posting your question. What happens when you run the link validator (How do I validate links in a course?) in that course. Does the validator indicate that the link is pointing to a different course? If so you will need to make sure that this link is fixed. If you hover over the link in question, you'll see a Course ID number:
The number displayed in this URL needs to match with the Course ID displayed in your address bar of your web browser. If those two numbers are different, then that's an indication that you may have copied a link from a previous course into a current course. That's generally not good practice because the link is trying to send your students to content they don't have access to because they aren't enrolled in that other course.
I hope this will be of help to you, Nicki.
