I'm using google and want to insert a slide show as an example of what I want students to do. How can I embed or insert the slide show in my assignment?
Hi Tina Erickson , and Welcome to the Canvas Community!
You can add a PowerPoint slide show to the instructions in an assignment, just as you can add any other supported file type, using either the Rich Content Editor and the Content Selector.
You can learn more in the Rich Content Editor chapter of the Instructor Guide, specifically, see this lesson How do I insert course files into the Rich Content Editor using the Content Selector as an instructor?
I hope you find this helpful,
Hello Tina Erickson Thank You for posting your question. I extend a welcome to you as well! In addition to what Kelley L. Meeusen provided for you, I wasn't sure if you meant that you were storing a slideshow in your Google account and wanted to then link that in your course. If this is the case, you my need to follow the instructions outlined here: How do I create a hyperlink or embed a file from Google Drive into the Rich Content Editor as an instructor? Of course, this also assumes that your local Canvas administrator at your school has connected the Google Apps LTI external app to your school's Canvas environment. If you are not able to find the Google item in your RCE (Rich Content Editor), then you may not have it installed in your school's Canvas environment...in which case you'd need to use the advice that Kelley provided. You may also talk with your local Canvas administrator to see if getting the Google Apps LTI integration is a possibility at your school.
I hope this information is helpful to you, Tina.
