Once I have created a master course and have used that master course to import modules into my other classes, will the imports automatically update when I update the module in the master course?
No, they will not update. There is no tie between courses, unless you have multiple sections in the same course. Using the import feature to copy content between courses simply copies the existing content. If you change the master, you will need to make the same changes in the copies.
Thanks for the info.
Robbie Grant Admin is correct. Do you know, Stacy Hollis, if your school has enabled Canvas Commons yet? If not, you might want to look into that. If you create content in a "master" course and then share it to Canvas Commons, anyone who chooses to import that content into his/her course from Commons would receive the updates from the "master" course once the person who changed the content in the "master" made sure the edits/updates were pushed back out to Commons. Essentially, it's an "update once, distribute to many" kind of thing. Here are the Guides for Canvas Commons if you want to look through them. Canvas Commons Guide
For anyone interested in this topic, be sure to RSVP to the CanvasLIVE Twitter Chat #CanvasChat: Managing Masters (2/14) which is coming up this Tuesday, February 14, 2017. RSVP “yes” if you will be there--and if you’re interested, but your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend in real time, RSVP "no" or "maybe" to receive all event updates. Your RSVP ensures that you will receive a notification should the event be cancelled or changed.
