How can I delete A BUNCH of files in files? There are over 100 that I need to eliminate. Please help, I have been clicking on each individually, there must be a better way! Also how do I delete the folder completely?
Hi Brenda Maynard - There is! Select a file by clicking anywhere in a white-colored area so that you do NOT open the file in question. You'll see a colored selection bar to the left of it and the file itself will be a bluer color. Then, hold down Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) and click on another file. Keep doing that, so that you select more as you go along. When more than one file is selected, it will look something like the capture below. Just click the trash icon circled:
If there are several files in a row, it's even easier. Click the first one--again being careful not to open it--and then hold down your Shift key and select the last file. All files should show they are selected. You can then delete.
Folders work the same way. To delete an entire folder--and its contents--just be on the main landing page of Files so that you are not in the folder. Select the folder as outlined above; it will turn blue. Hit delete. Done!
I hope this helps, Brenda!
