I was told to save my schoology classes as they could be imported into canvas. Anyone know how to do this?
I've never used Schoology but I believe it lets you export content in a format known as "Common Cartridge", which is recognised by Canvas.
A quick search of the Schoology help guide found some instructions on exporting your content:
If you are able to create the export using the method described there, you can then import it into Canvas. There are some instructions for importing in the Canvas guide:
George, it depends on which learning management system (LMS) your Sociology course is currently residing in. If you let us know what you're currently using we can probably help figure out the best way to copy/save it so it can be imported into Canvas.
Wow! So sorry! In my reading of your question I interpreted "Schoology" as Sociology! I've been working with a Sociology instructor lately, so I guess I've got Sociology on the brain!
Steve is exactly correct that if you download your content as "Common Cartridge" you can then upload your course content into Canvas.
Yes, I found an import that worked. Open the course, on the bottom left select settings. On the right, import content, then select canvas course export package. It brought them in (minus the picture links) and sorted them by quiz, assignment etc. Actually worked fairly well. Had to do some editing on names, etc.
