We are just learning as teachers to use Canvas. Do students see all assignments from all teachers in the calendar view, or do they just see the assignment from the class that they are currently logged into?
Students will see the calendar entries for any course that they have currently selected in the Calendar tool. By default, the Calendar tool shows the first 10 courses, but students can turn on and off the calendar views per course. Here is the link to the Student Guide for the claendar How do I use the Calendar as an instructor?
The Calendar displays everything you are enrolled in since the Calendar spans across all courses. In the navigation bar, you can choose to view the calendar in Week, Month, Agenda, or Scheduler view . The view you choose dictates the style of the calendar window . By default, the calendar appears in Month view.
Each personal, course, and group calendar is identified by a separate color that populates the calendar view. Associated assignments for each course or group will appear within the calendar view for each calendar.
By default, all your course calendars and group calendars will be selected and appear in the calendar view . To hide a calendar, click the box next to the name of the calendar . Calendars that are not active within the calendar view will appear in gray .
Hope this helps,
Brian, the default is for students see assignments from every course they are currently enrolled in. Yet, they can filter their courses - How do I filter the Calendar view by course?
