Hi Susan and welcome to the Community! Are these assignments published? Particularly with the classic Canvas gradebook a column will not appear for the assignment until it has been published.
If the assignments are published and still not appearing in the gradebook, and you did not indicate not to include the assignment in the student's final grade, please let us know.
