I am having an issue with a rubric that I brought over from a Blackboard conversion.
I can edit most of the rubric, but when I click on the pencil icon on the last column, it doesn't do anything.
Hi Stephen Scheib - That's really interesting! I just tested one of my rubrics, and when I click the edit/pencil icon, I'm able to edit the rating. Is this unique to this assignment and/or course? Hopefully, some additional Community Members find your question and can chime in.
It seems to be a problem with this particular rubric. I even tried copying it to another assignment and even another course and it just doesn't want to behave.
Hi Stephen Scheib - I saw your question a few days ago and, like Kristin Lundstrum, tried things out on a few rubrics of my own and could not repeat your issue. Clearly, there is something that Canvas did not seem to "like" about your Blackboard rubric and you are likely going to have to re-create it from scratch. (Or contact Instructure support.) BUT, depending on how much time you want to spend on this, I wonder if some of what James Jones has in his cool Canvancement Importing Rubrics from a Spreadsheet might come to your assistance in that you could re-create what appears to be a rather complex rubric first in a spreadsheet and then import it back into Canvas? Better yet, I noticed that James has information on how to export a rubric out of Canvas in this reply to a question posed in that document. It's possible that--following James' directions--you might be able to export it out first, though given it came originally from a Blackboard course site, the exported rubric in the xml file may not be all that great, either. The main thing I noticed in your screen capture is that it ends at a column higher than 0 which, of course, is what the default Canvas rubrics like to end on and which I also suspect is where the Blackboard-to-Canvas import fell apart with this specific rubric.
This is all completely a wild guess on my part, but it may be something to consider for further trouble-shooting.
I am having the exact same issue. I new rubric I created from scratch and I can't edit the last column. Never had this happen before, so I'm not sure what to make of it at this point.
