Changing group memberships is something that must be done at the time you want it to happen,. There's no way to set group memberships to be automatically changed at some future time.

Darn! It would be nice if there were an algorithm to iterate group membership. The "liveliness" of groups is so variable--and I always feel for the student who gets into a less-than-helpful group. (Thanks for the question, Caitlin!!)
Actually, there is a way to do this. You only need to have your activities have due dates.
