Would like to hide the total column from student view in grade book. Any suggestions?
Hi, Joseph! Yes, this is possible; you'll find the option in the course Settings | Course Details | more options. Enabling this checkbox will hide the Final Grade column and also the Assignment Group columns if the gradebook is using weighted assignment groups. You'll find details on how to do this in How do I hide totals in my students' grade summaries?
Welcome, Joseph. I'm not sure how to turn off the total columns (or if it's even possible). I'm curious as to why you'd want that column turned off.
Hi. Does checking "Hide totals in student grades summary" just hide the number or does it hide the entry from students? When I try it with the student view feature, it appears to just hide the values. Is there a way to hide all of those entries?
Hi Greg Johnson
If by "Entries" you mean the assignments for which a grades is based, then the answer is "No", checking that box does not hide those. Students will still see the lists of graded activities, just not their total score.
I hope this is helpful,
Thanks, but I don't mean the individual assignments themselves. I mean what's indicated in the image. (The assignment groups, I guess.)It's not really that useful for me to have every assignment group listed like that for the students to see with their grades.
Hi again, Greg
Those are your assignment groups, and they will not be hidden, just their scores are hidden as indicated by those crossed-out eyeball icons.
