how do i edit closed captions?
Lorraine, greetings! From your question I wasn't sure what video software you are using, but if you created or uploaded the video in Canvas using the Canvas tools, then this guide will help - How do I add captions to new or uploaded videos in Canvas as an instructor?
Hope this helps! Kona
Thanks Kona. The videos are stored in Arc media on CANVAS but were produced elsewhere. Captions have been added but I want to edit them because the software doesn’t capture the narrative at all points.
I will go back to our elearning person at work next week.
Hello Lorraine Towers...
You should be able to edit captions of your Arc video using either of these Guides:
Also, I wanted to let you know that I will share your question with the Canvas Studio Users Group here in the Community in hopes that your question will get some additional exposure. If you are not following this group, you can use the link that I have provided, and then click on the "Follow" button at the top right corner of the screen. Also, click on the nearby button called "Actions", and then click on "Join group".
I hope this extra bit of information will be helpful to you, Lorraine.
Hello once again, Lorraine Towers...
It's been a while since I last responded, so I thought I would check in with you. In addition to the conversation you were having with Kona Jones, did you see the feedback I left you on April 2, 2019? If so, did my reply help to answer your question? Or, are you still looking for some help with your original question? If you feel that either my response or Kona's response has helped to answer your question, please click the "Mark Correct" button next to one of our replies. However, if you are still looking for some assistance from Community members, please leave a note below letting us know how we might be able to assist you. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for over seven months. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope that's alright with you, Lorraine. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
Your’s and Kona’s advice was really helpful so please do tick ‘Mark Correct’ with thanks! I have finished my films for the online learning module I developed with others.
Sorry for not reply earlier, things have been beyond a little bit busy!
When things settle down I hope to make some more films and maybe will see you online again.
All the best to you and Kona.
