In error I clicked on none on the status of a student's uploaded assignment and the uploaded assisgnment disappeared. How do I get the student's uploaded assignment to reappear?
Hello Lourdes Perez-Fernandez and welcome to the Canvas Community! My experience with Canvas is that assignment never truly disappear, so I am inclined to believe that the submissions are recoverable or accessible somewhere else. Can you elaborate on where you indicated "none" on the status of the assignment and where you were looking to view the assignment (and it disappeared)? Also, can you clarify that this is an assignment in Canvas itself versus an assignment in a 3rd party software that plugs into Canvas, such as MH Connect, Pearson MyLabs, Cengage, etc.?
It sounded like Lourdes is talking about the submission status in the new gradebook (none, late, missing, excused). However, I don't think that affects the submission, just any penalty applied to the submission.
The other day, I had something (in SpeedGrader) disappear on me and I couldn't figure out how to get back to it until I reloaded the page (by moving to the next student and then coming back). Reloading the page would be my first attempt at finding it.
Good point James. I was testing assignment settings and didn't consider the new grade book. I did test just now and like you mentioned James, in my sandbox changing the status did not impact my ability to see the submission when I go to SpeedGrader. It would be interesting to see if reloading the page, clicking on SpeedGrader specifically, or even attempting with a different web browser makes a difference.
Hi Lourdes Perez-Fernandez,
We haven't heard from you in a while so I thought I would check in and see if you were able to find a resolution to the problem you reported. I am going to go ahead and mark this as "assumed answered" for now, but this can be changed if needed and marking the question as assumed answered doesn't prevent continued discussion in the thread.
All the best!
Yes, all was cleared up.
