Maryanne, it's strange that it's not deleting. Which internet browser are you using? I'd try switching internet browsers (Firefox or Chrome) and see if that helps.

Note: Assignments submitted through Canvas disappear automatically from the To Do list; no-submission assignments (submitted on paper/in class) can only be removed from the list manually.
Are you trying to clear assignments? or announcement/other items?
In case you are an instructor, How do I use the To Do list and sidebar in the Dashboard as an instructor?
Note: When an item is removed, the item can only be restored to the To Do section if a new submission is received for that assignment, or if an existing submission for the assignment still requires grading.
Meaning that you can x it out but the item will come back when there are new submissions to grade.

Ever since the iOS 13 update, our students cannot remove items from the to-do list when there is "no submission" required. They want to get it off the to-do list, and were able to do this before iOS 13. Please advise.

I submitted the ticket days ago and still nothing has changed. Students are frustrated.
How long does it typically take to hear back on a help ticket?

If your district admin/support has escalated the ticket to Instructure, they're usually fairly fast!
Even when you hear back about a support ticket, there's still some waiting involved as the engineers find a solution. I know this is one of those *must haves* for students, and waiting is difficult when it's a well-used feature. However, I have confidence that there will be a solution soon. I'll be sure to update this thread when I hear anything or when I see an update enter the Apple Store.
