Is it possible when editing text in ARC for closed captioning to search and replace words or terms?
Hi there, Norman Garland Thank You for posting your question. Well, this is a pretty interesting question. I didn't think this would really be possible because browsers aren't typically an "editing" software like Word and PowerPoint are. But, thanks to Google, I think I have an answer for you. In searching Google, I came across this website:
How to Find and Replace Text in Google Chrome and Firefox - Make Tech Easier
I downloaded the Chrome extension "Search and Replace", and then I tried it on an Arc video I had uploaded to my own account. I searched for the word "mind" (which appeared three times in the captioning transcript) and replaced it with the a different word, and it worked! I made sure to select the option for "Input fields only". Obviously, you'd want to use the browser's "Find" option (Ctrl+F on your keyboard) to search the transcript to make sure that the text is correct.
I hope this helps, Norman! Please let Community members know if you have any questions about this. Thanks!
