Help in adding attendance points. Where do I do this?
Hi Marcia and welcome to the Community! If you are using Roll Call for attendance (see What is the Roll Call Attendance Tool? and What is the Roll Call Attendance Tool?) then the system will automatically create a column in the grade book for attendance. Many instructors take attendance without this tool and simply want a column to type in a grade. To accomplish this you go to the "Assignments" tab and create an assignment called "Attendance" or whatever you like, and once published this column will be available in the grades tab to award points. For attendance that was taken in class, I normally suggest that instructors change the submission type to "no submission" so students know that nothing needs to be turned in and Canvas doesn't expect some type of submission to have been made.
