I was entering grades when the mouse froze. The column would not take a score. I tried different courses but it still froze. I logged out, went to Word and the mouse works just fine.
Thank you for your reply. I feel rather silly--I had accidentally hit the NumLock button (wish I could blame it on the cat who sometimes strolls over the keyboard). That still leaves the question why it did not apply to local documents but only to Canvas. The ghost in the machine, perhaps.

Hi Susan. Sorry to hear about this! I see that this question was posted a couple of days ago. Have you found a solution to your mouse problem? It is strange that it would work in Word but not Canvas but it could be something related to the web browser. Did you log out of Canvas, close the browser and then log back in or try in another web browser (like Chrome and Firefox)? Perhaps even restarting your computer would help.
These are the first things I would check but it still is possible that the problem will continue. If you try this and still have trouble, if it works, or if you found another solution please let us know. It would be nice to learn what was going on and what solved the problem!
