How do you find the notification 'bell', has disappeared.
Hi Charles Hayes , and Charles Welcome to the Canvas Community!
I have no idea what you mean by "Notification bell". Could you explain, provide a screenshot if one can be made? I have looked through my instance of Canvas, and can find no "bell" associated with Notifications.
The only bell I can readily think of (inside Canvas) is the muted notification.
I can think of other bells -- I teach statistics and there's a pretty well-known one there, but I don't think that's what Charles is asking about.
I don't even mute the sound on my stereo, so did not note that location. Greatly appreciate the help, Sir!
The links you provided will answer Charles Hayes question about muting and un-muting, but not why he does not see that bell for muted assignments, if that is the correct one (and I suspect you are correct).
Charles is it possible you are using an unsupported browser? These are the kinds of quirky behavior noted when outdated browsers or Internet Explorer are used. Try a recent version of Firefox or Chrome. To learn which browsers are supported, go to What are the browser and computer requirements for Canvas?
Again, thanks James!
Or perhaps it's gone because the assignment was unmuted.
Charles, you've gotten some great advice here from James and Kelley. Are you a student? If so, are you referring to the bell icon on your Grades page as depicted in the Submission Type Icons section of this lesson: How do I use the icons and colors in the Grades page? #4 in the screenshot depicts the bell—so if it's no longer there, it means your instructor has un-muted that assignment.
It seems that sometimes the homilies are correct, and it really does take a village!
