I understand now that going to the "To Do" list will guarantee that the instructor is seeing the most current assignments submitted by students, but (in at least in one case this week) the document reflected in "Grades" was an older submission document than in "To Do." Why aren't these documents the same, and shouldn't "Grades" be the most accurate since it's what we (instructors) refer to the most? Question: Once something is graded in "To Do," will "Grades" then reflect that newer document/version to the instructor? Since I had been doing my grading in "Grades," I was caught off-guard when one of my students today insisted he had submitted a later version of the assignment document, which I couldn't immediately locate--and he was right! Trying not to look foolish ...
Nancy, greetings! Could you explain a little more about what you mean by "the document reflected in Grades was an older submission document than in "To Do." I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this, so it's hard to help figure out what's going on.
As for the other part of your question, the "To Do" just takes you to recent assignment submissions in Speedgrader. Anything you do in Speedgrader will (within seconds) be updated automatically in Grades. They are directly linked. Likewise, if you did make a grade change in Grades or add a comment, it would show up in Speedgrader for that assignment.
